The Skilled Migration Program for applicants seeking Skilled Migration to Australia in 2022-23 is open!
Various states are opening their onshore and offshore skill migration programs for 2022-23. Victoria is one of them, attracting a lot of interest from both onshore and offshore applicants. Due to huge interest and high demand, the state of Victoria has received over 15,000 registrations of interest in a single month(!) In the first round alone, over 1,100 people received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a State nomination. Victoria has stated that it will send invitations throughout the program year.
There is a great demand for skilled workers in Australia. States are looking for more skilled workers to fulfil the workforce needs. So there has never been a better time to apply for migration. The skills assessment should be taken and the English proficiency scores obtained immediately to be eligible for sponsorship, according to recent announcements.
Subclass 190 and 491 visas are available to onshore and offshore candidates in Victoria. Candidates who apply for a state nomination may submit Registrations of Interests (ROIs) with more requirements than before. The Skilled Migration Program has undergone substantial changes this year, including the removal of the requirement to work in a preferred occupation to obtain an ROI. In previous Skilled Migration Programs, applicants had to work in their preferred occupation.
All occupations on the Australian Department of Home Affairs (DHA) list are qualified, and applicants do not need STEMM skills or work experience in the destination sector. Accounting, engineering, information technology, and trade professions are among those and professions with a background in health information technology, education, engineering, agriculture, and trade, or who can contribute to growing sectors such as hi-tech/digital, health and life sciences, green energy, defense, space, and cyber security will be accepted.
A candidate must meet the following requirements:
- You must be under 45 years old
- Must have an occupation on the DHA list of occupations
- Must make every effort to remain in Victoria
- At least 65 points are required
