Australia has a number of visa options for individuals who wish to work or invest in Australia. These visas are designed to target genuine skill shortages, diversify business expertise and increase entrepreneurial talent, without displacing Australian workers.

Follow the links to find information about these visa options, plus general information about how Australia’s skilled visa programs work and how they benefit Australia.

Eligible Skilled Occupations in Australia

The country has listed a list of occupations that are available to individuals who are qualified to work or train in an eligible skilled occupation in Australia.

The occupations available are reviewed regularly by the Department of Jobs and Small Business to ensure their responsiveness to changes in the Australian labour market and regional variations across Australia. For more information, including how to make a submission in relation to a particular occupation.
