You must meet both the general requirements for a Subclass 132 visa and the specific requirements of the stream you are applying for. The subclass 186 visa can be applied for in two flows.

• Venture capitalists for individuals who have received venture funding from members of the Australian Venture Capital Association Limited (AVCAL).
• To apply for a Subclass 132 visa, you must first appoint a visa application from the state or territory government. Submitting an EOI allows these governments to review your business claim and decide whether to nominate you.
• Once nominated, you must apply for a subclass 132 visa through Skillselect. You can apply for a visa online within 60 days of receiving the invitation letter.
• The Subclass 132 visa requires you to submit several documents with your application to prove your statement

• Designated by the Australian State or Territory government for immigration to Australia. You have been invited to apply through SkillSelect.
• When you enter Australia, you make a genuine and realistic commitment to starting a new or participating in an existing business, retaining significant ownership and participating in the day-to-day operations of your business.

You are under 55 years of age unless the state or territory government determines that the proposed business has exceptional economic benefits.

• In at least 2 of the last 4 fiscal years, you have had:
• A minimum business net worth of AU$400,000;
• 10% of the shares of the business entity if it is a public entity.
• The company had annual sales of over A$3 million in two of the last four fiscal years.
• You have net asset of at least AUD 1.5 million.

Venture capital entrepreneur stream

To direct the Venture Capital Entrepreneur Stream, you must have a venture financing agreement of at least A$1 million through an Australian company that is a member of Australian Venture Capital Limited (AVCAL).
